Mann mit Hund (Man with Dog)
Als sie ihn verließ kaufte
er sich einen Hund das
Fell braun und weiß ein
hübsches Tier ich traf sie
oft auf den Wiesen hinter
der Autobahn er still der
Hund verspielt und kläffend
immer Holzstücke bringend
die er in einem hohen
Bogen werfen mußte die
Leute sagen eines Tages
ist er wohl fortgezogen
und niemand hats mitbekommen
aber ich denke mir das so
einmal brachte der Hund
anstatt des Stöckchens den
ganzen Wald und darin
sind dann beide
verschwunden

When she left him he
bought himself a dog the
coat brown and white a
pretty animal I saw them
often in the fields behind
the freeway he quiet the
dog playful and yappy
always bringing pieces of wood
that he had to throw in
a high arc the
people say one day
he must have moved away
and no one realized it
but I’ve a notion that
one time instead of a stick
the dog brought the
whole forest and then
into it they both
disappeared
